My Story

Hello everyone, I'm fundraising for Rainbow Trust because I see first hand how important the support is to families who have a sick child. As a parent myself, I can't begin to imagine going through such trauma and having no extra support. Even the families who have a large support network, are often filled with guilt at having to 'put on' their own loved ones all of the time.

And this could happen to anyone.  This is happening to regular, normal loving families and they have their world turned upside down. The thing that has surprised me the most about working with families who have a life limiting or terminal illness is how it can affect every single aspect of a familys life; from school attendance for siblings, monthly income as parents may not be able to work, adaptations being made to home, where someone can walk their dog as they need to be ambulance accessible at all times, relationships, parents health, and fuel and hospital parking costs to name just a few.
